Welcome to Moffat & District Motor Club

In 2006 a local group of car and motorcycle enthusiasts formed Moffat and District Motor Club to share common interests and activities.

Early organised events included constructing and marshalling at a local forest rally stage for the Classic Lombard Car Rally, and setting up and manning a Scottish Championship Motorcycle Enduro event, in the Yarrow Valley.

Guest speakers at our Club evenings have included; Scottish Rally Champions; Isle of Man TT winners; Dakar Rally Motorcycle competitors; Classic motorcycle racers and restorers, and Global Landrover Treckers.

Regular Rideouts are held to race events, motorcycle museums. Film nights; treasure hunts; family BBQ’s and quiz nights also fill our calender.

From 2012 we have had an input into the setup and organization of the annual Moffat Rootes Car Rally. We marshal for the Saturday car run and in the show field over the weekend. We have also had a regular club stand at the event, with our members showing a variety of interesting cars and motorcycles.

In 2023 the club took over the running of the Moffat Classic Car Rally, following the retirement of its’ previous organizer Gordon Bisset. The Club’s main focus is now the continuing future of this major event, which is an important and enjoyable fixture in Moffat life, and also benefits local charities and businesses. To achieve this we are supported by the Galloway Motorcycle Club and helped by local groups and volunteers, hopefully ensuring that this family friendly event continues for many years to come.
